Member benefits

The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club of Victoria Inc. was formed to not only promote the breed, but also the common bond and friendships that owning Tollers can bring.

Many of our members train and compete in a variety of different sports with their Tollers. Some have been involved with the breed for over two decades and are a wealth of information on all things Toller related.

As a member of the Club you will receive voting rights at the AGM, reduced entry fees for our annual Championship Show, Obedience, Rally and RATG trials, quarterly copies of the club newsletter Toller Tales, access to club events and competitions and the opportunity to share quality information and valuable resources.

Tollers are renowned for their versatility and willingness to try almost anything asked of them. They excel in the show ring, in the field, in obedience and agility and just about every sport on offer.

If you think you might like to try your hand at conformation - or perhaps lure coursing, tracking or flyball is more your speed - our members can provide advice on how to get started. And if you’re lucky enough to obtain an ANKC title with your Toller, the Club will provide you with a lovely rosette to celebrate your acheivement.

For more information on the various sports you can do with your Toller, visit our Sports page.

The Club is a great resource for new puppy owners and can be a safe space to ask questions, vent frustrations and share the little wins of puppy raising.

Membership is free for the first year for new members who have purchased a puppy bred by a breeder who is also a club member.

We can also provide advice to those looking to buy a Toller puppy in the future who may have questions regarding health, temperament or suitability.

As a member, you get access to a number of club events throughout the year.

In the past we have held fun days at Kepala Pet Resort, BBQ’s and wine tasting, group walks, dock diving and training days, club dinners and of course our annual Championship Show, Obedience, Rally and RATG trials.

We also regularly hold fun photo competitions with some great prizes on offer for members.

Perhaps the best part of being a member is the opportunity to connect and share with a likeminded community of Toller lovers.

Our members regularly share tips and tricks on training, health, nutrition, grooming and more.

Members also receive a regular newsletter featuring club news, events, resources and other articles of interest.
